Military Coaching

Whether it is having a spouse return from deployment or adjusting to a new assignment, our desire is to support our men and women in uniform and their families.   Having been to war and back and now a retiree, I know first hand how difficult it is for the service person and their family to function effectively during these transitions.  For some, the initial period of time upon returning from a war is almost euphoric with the feeling of “coming home.”  Everything is good; America is the greatest.  Then, in a short time the serviceman realizes that the world he left behind has changed while he has been away.  Adjustments and understanding are paramount in this transition back to a “normal” life.  A life coach with similar past experiences is well equipped to come along side and make these kinds of transitions successful.

The same is true when a career military person or even a “short-timer” decides to transition to civilian life.  The person and family must make anticipatory planning a priority.  Having to give up the emotional and financial security of a monthly paycheck can be frightening and quite challenging.  Partnering with a coach, especially one who has “been there, done that” can help a family plan ahead, be a sounding board for ideas and hopefully make the transition go smoothly.
